Your computer will warn you the first time. That is normal.

TryWorkWell installs straight from this site rather than through the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store. That is why macOS says it “could not verify” the app and Windows says it “isn’t commonly downloaded”. There is nothing wrong with the file.

Installing

Setting up the first time

Your computer may show a security prompt the first time you open TryWorkWell. That's expected. On your computer the app is called WorkWell. Follow the steps below and you'll be set up in under a minute.

  1. 1Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. 2Drag the WorkWell icon onto the Applications folder shown next to it.
  3. 3Eject the WorkWell disk image, then open WorkWell from your Applications folder. Opening it straight from the disk image can stop it launching.
  4. 4The first time you open it, macOS shows a security check titled “WorkWell” Not Opened or saying “Apple could not verify WorkWell…”. This is a standard macOS step for apps installed from the web, not a problem with the app. Click Done (not Move to Trash).
  5. 5Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the Security section, and click Open Anyway next to WorkWell. Confirm with Touch ID or your password.
  6. 6macOS shows one last confirmation with an Open button - click it, and WorkWell launches. From now on it opens like any other app.
  7. 7Right after launch, macOS asks whether “WorkWell” may send you notifications. Click Allow - posture and break alerts arrive as notifications, so without this you will not get any.
  8. 8When you start posture tracking, click Allow on the camera prompt. Using AirPods instead? Choose them in Settings › Posture tracker › Track with, then click Allow on the Motion & Fitness prompt. Nothing is recorded or uploaded either way.

You only do this once. Every launch after the first is a single click.
